This country offers a very good quality in higher education and a more affordable cost than many other Western European countries.

In Italy there are a lot of state and private universities, many of which are highly ranked and they are also considered among the oldest universities in Europe. For example, the University of Bologna, founded in 1088, is recognized as the oldest university still in operation even today.

There are different levels of higher education:

  • Laurea breve is a bachelor’s degree

  • Dottorato di Ricerca is a PhD

The tuition fees in a state university depends by family student income, anyway the average is between 500 and 3,000 euro per year but it could be different  from one university to another and also depends on the chosen course of study.

Private universities are more expensive.

International students are entitled to the same financial assistance services as Italian students based on financial means or merit.

There are government scholarships, national and regional, to which they can apply for.

Moreover, some Italian Universities offer Italian scholarship programs for international students.

What’s more Italy is a beautiful country, rich in culture, art and attractive to study abroad.

Italy exposes students to magnificent monuments, museums lined with centuries-old paintings, beautiful churches adorned with intricate facades, and ancient ruins of Roman Empire.

Italian peninsula is located in Southwestern Europe, lays on the Mediterranean sea and offers stunning old cities, breathtaking natural views, pleasant climate.

Almost every big city is also perfectly connected to European and not-European countries with 87 airports. All the bigger Italian cities are interconnected with 77 main- railway stations. That makes life easier for many students that don’t like travelling by car or by plane.

Italian people are friendly and welcoming, the food is simply delicious!!
